The Concept

Since early 2021, Fried Studios has partnered with WineOnline.ie — Ireland’s leading online wine retailer — to support their growth across digital channels.

What began as a modest social media contract quickly evolved into a fully integrated brand and marketing relationship, spanning everything from e-commerce design to campaign strategy and retention marketing.


The Challenge

WineOnline.ie experienced a major surge in e-commerce activity during the pandemic. With sales growing rapidly, they needed a creative partner who could:

  • Modernise their visual and digital presence
  • Improve mobile and shopping experience
  • Build brand loyalty across platforms
  • Sustain long-term growth through consistent content and campaigns

We were brought in to build and maintain momentum while helping them evolve into a more strategic, design-led business.


Our Approach


Social Media Management

From day one, we’ve managed WineOnline.ie’s presence across Instagram and Facebook, later expanding to LinkedIn, YouTube, and a short-lived test on TikTok. Together, we built a monthly content calendar grounded in:

  • Wine education
  • Behind-the-scenes content
  • Product storytelling
  • Seasonal offers aligned with newsletters

Since 2021, Instagram followers have grown from 1,000 to 4,000, with engagement rates increasing consistently year over year.


Website Redesign

Launched September 2024

We delivered a full e-commerce redesign ahead of Q4’s retail peak — modernising the UI while simplifying the customer journey across over 4,000 SKUs.

Key goals:

  • Clean, modern interface
  • Vastly improved mobile experience (75% of traffic)
  • Lightning-fast load times
  • Refined filtering and search tools
  • Improved visibility for underperforming wines

We handled UX, UI, content audits, product taxonomy and developer coordination. The result: a site that drives 15% more year-over-year sales and outperforms its predecessor across SEO, bounce rate, and customer retention.


Email, Subscription & Campaign Strategy

In 2024, we expanded into full marketing management, introducing new flows and retention tools.

Work included:

  • Bi-weekly email newsletters (now generating 30%+ of all online sales)
  • Wine Club overhaul with clearer messaging and packaging
  • ‘Subscribe & Save’ launch for recurring orders
  • Seasonal marketing campaigns and print collateral (e.g. Christmas brochure)

We continue to meet regularly with the team for strategy and implementation — both remotely and onsite.


Events & Community Building

Together with the client, we’ve helped promote real-world wine events including:

  • Meet the Winemaker Dinners
  • The Rioja Festival in Dublin

These events connect the online brand to the physical world — strengthening loyalty, storytelling and customer engagement.
